Shogun & Daiymos

                The major military and political leader in feudal Japan consisted of the Shogun ( Chief Lord) and Daiymos (lords).  The Daiymos were normally squabbling over  land territory and for power.  Many of the Daiymos were rich and power hungry.  If they became powerful enough, they would try and overthrow the Shogun.  The Shogun normally control all of the  Daiymos and amassed huge armies of samurai to protect himseft from rival Daiymo.
